I have full Public Liability Insurance covering minding, sitting, walking and transport through Pet Business Insurance Ltd. I am also additionally covered under the Rover Guarantee ✅
Yes! Please get in touch if you'd like these results shared with you ☑️
As yet, I do not have any formal training or certifications - however, I am due to complete my Canine First Aid and Basics of Dog Training later this year! ✔️
For weekend house-sitting and daycare, I can cover most of South Cornwall. For walks and drop-ins during the week, bookings would ideally be within a 5 mile radius of St Blazey. Please get in touch with me prior to booking as I can often be flexible with how far I'm willing to travel, depending on my availability 📅
At Emily's Kernow Pet Services, we don't discriminate - equally, it is of paramount importance that I'm fully briefed on the care, requirements and little quirks your pet may have! So far I have experience caring for Dogs and Puppies, Cats and Kittens, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and Horses. 🐱
At Emily's Kernow Pet Services, we believe your furbabies thrive better in the comfort of their own home. A big part of why owners are so hesitant to put their dogs in kennels is the unfamiliarity that can put unnecessary stress on your pet. 🐶
A study conducted by American based non-profit Animal Advocacy organisation 'Faunalytics' found the following statistics when analyzing pet owners and their relationship with kennels/external boarding services:
50% said their biggest concern about kennel boarding was that it put their companion animal’s emotional health at risk
33% of companion animal guardians have had a bad experience with kennel boarding
Respondents felt that the greatest benefits of in-home companion animal care include:
75% believe companion animal maintains daily routine in comfortable and familiar surroundings
Booking is preferred via the Rover app. Please get in touch should you require assistance with this!📱
We understand that unforseen things can happen and throw a spanner in our plans, we just ask that if possible, we are given a days notice before cancelling any booking ❌
Yes! Pupdates/photo's will be provided to pawrents throughout a booking - just to reassure you that your baby is in safe hands and basically having a ball 📸
For daycare and overnight sitting I will likely need a key to access your home. I can either arrive early to a booking to receive this and then put the key in a safe place when I leave at the end of the day/end of the overnight booking or please let me know if you have a prearranged system to cover my entering and leaving your premises 🏠
I am well versed in administering medication to both of my dogs who suffer with allergies! Please brief me should your baby require this during a booking - this can also be covered/demonstrated during a meet and greet if preferable 💊
At Emily's Kernow Pet Services, your furbabies safety is our absolute priority and starts from the moment the door is opened to your property to leaving the home for walks. For this reason, we stress the importance of being briefed on any quirks/behaviours your pet may have - e.g. Do they pull on their lead? - Are there any specific foods they are allergic to? - Are they friendly with other dogs? -Are they a Houdini and master of the art of escape? Rest assured, I will make sure to query these things prior to a booking.
Key protocols for me whilst caring for your furbabies and home include:
Thorough Meet & Greet: I offer a free initial consultation to understand your pet's routine, temperament, medical needs, and house rules. This helps build trust and ensure clear expectations.
Secure Entry Protocols: I follow strict key handling procedures to protect your home’s security.
Limited Access Policy: I do not invite guests into your home and only access areas necessary for pet care (as agreed upon in advance).
Routine Check-ins: For longer stays, I provide regular updates via text, photo, or video so you can see how your pet is doing and know your home is in good hands.
Pet-Proofing Awareness: I check for any home hazards like open windows, loose cords, toxic plants, or accessible food items that could harm your pet.
Health & Safety Vigilance: I monitor pets closely for signs of illness, stress, or unusual behavior, and adjust care accordingly.
Emergency Contact List: Owners' numbers are stored at the point of booking, however, I may also ask for details of your pets registered vet.
First Aid: I am well versed on the basics of pet first aid and am due to complete my official canine first aid course at the end of this year
Home-Related Incidents: If there's a break-in, fire, or utility issue, I contact emergency services and you (or your backup), and secure the home as best as possible.
Full Public Liability Insurance: I am fully insured, offering added peace of mind for home and pet safety.
Canine Behaviour Awareness: One of the most common failures of dog-sitters is allowing interactions between unknown dogs on walks. I'm hyper-vigilant in that respect and always air on the side of caution when walking customers' dogs. I operate a strict no off the lead policy unless I have explicit reassurance from owners that this is permitted. Even still, off the lead walks will always been in secure and safe areas, ideally with minimal walker traffic. I believe it is always better to be safe then sorry!
*Please note! I may query as to whether your pet is microchipped, insured or vaccinated prior to a booking.* 🔒
Payment is preferred via the Rover app, this way I am covered by the Rover Guarantee. They accept all major credit/debit cards for payment and Google/Apple Pay. 💵
